Office 2010 Users – Time to upgrade

Office 2010 end of support lifecycle on 13th October 2020

Office 2010 was originally released to retail on 15th June 2010 after 10 years Microsoft have produced three subsequent versions (2013, 2016 & 2019) and provided several patches/updates & fixes to the product. Although most users have upgraded to one of the newer versions, with the end of support lifecycle looming most users may not realise that the old version will stop working with Microsoft 365 (previously named Office 365) services such as the Exchange Email. It also means that bug fixes or security vulnerabilities that are discovered will no longer be patched nor will they offer any technical support for issues.

You can upgrade to Office 2019 or Microsoft 365 product range. Microsoft 365’s monthly subscription model is ideal for individuals and Small/Medium Businesses who want to spread the cost of the software throughout the financial year and want to be on the current version of the software. With some of Microsoft’s 365 products such as Teams and OneDrive & SharePoint only being available at subscription instead of the traditional boxed product this is an ideal time to move to Microsoft 365.
