Windows Server 2012 & SQL Server 2012 End of support in October 2023
If you have an older Windows Server 2012 or 2012 R2 then you will need to upgrade or replace it soon. Microsoft Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 support will end on 10th October 2023.
Many companies will have moved a majority of systems to Microsoft 365 however if you are still running Server 2012 then its time to replace it. We can still obtain an on premise server 2022 or you can purchase Extended Security Updates (ESUs) for Windows Server 2012 for a maximum of 3 years. The ESUs will continue until 13th October 2026.
Microsoft is also ending the support for SQL Server 2012 on 10th October 2023. Many application databases could be happily running on this version of SQL server however you should consider if you can upgrade to a later version or migrate to the Azure SQL services.
